On the map of Russia there are places populated by ethnic groups from Europe. For example,
Lipki village in the Smolensk region, where the Gagauz people of Moldova live with their
whole families or the German national district once populated entirely by ethnic Germans.
What happens when people of one ethnic community try to take root in a foreign land? What do
they consider to be their home? You will find answers to these and other questions in
our cross boarder multimedia project.
